The Penti-Con Conduct and Costume Policy 2017

The Penti-Con welcomes everyone regardless of gender, gender identity or expression, body size or shape, planet of origin, race, religion or lack of, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, ordinary wizarding level, political background, or fandom.

Respect is paramount. We will not tolerate harassment (verbal, physical or otherwise), stalking, unwanted advances (physical or otherwise) of any cosplayers or attendees. Behaviour under categories of a criminal nature will be dealt with through the RCMP accordingly.

Photography must not make the subject feel harassed, degraded, exploited, stalked or disrespected. While it is expected that cosplayers and convention attendees in general will be photographed we want everyone to feel safe. Any photographer violating these rules will be ejected from the event without a refund. Consensual photography of costumes is encouraged. If you’re not sure, ask the cosplayer!

If you are subject to or witness harassment, please contact a security volunteer or the weapons check desk and they will put you in touch with the Penti-Con staff and/or the appropriate authorities.

Costumes must conform to BC and Penticton public decency laws and bylaws. Let’s keep it family friendly everyone!
